Richard was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, where he graduated from Concordia University with a BComm in Marketing and Finance. A highly skilled business professional with more than 30 years of expertise in the Consumer Electronics (CE) Industry, Richard has managed and guided key, high profile brands in Canada, successfully achieving market dominance in very competitive categories.
Trusted Experience
Richard’s more than 17 years as Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Montreal based AVS Technologies Inc., an exclusive distributor of many important CE brands, gained him a reputation as a seasoned and successful business leader, having introduced many new products and product categories (flash memory, MP3 players, recordable CD, FRS/GMRS radios and more) into the Canadian marketplace. Established brands such as Cobra, TDK and Uniden all achieved market leading shares under Richard’s management and guidance at AVS.
Focus on Technology
During his 7 years as Vice President of Business Development & Vendor Acquisition with Synnex Canada LTD, Richard was responsible for securing distribution partnerships with new vendors in both the CE and IT space. Recognizing the opportunity and growth potential of new, emerging categories, Richard focused additional effort on several of these categories including: connected / smart home; fitness & health tracking; 3D printing; and home security, and successfully introduced many exciting new brands to Canadian retailers, both on-line and in store.

Richard is a firm believer in the power of retail merchandising, and has implemented a great number of exciting programs that have driven incremental sales and profits for vendors.
